This project, part of the “Programming in Design” subject, involved creating a website using images from Archive.org to build a unique user experience. The project followed the Design Sprint methodology to guide the development process.
I began with brainstorming and then moved into ideation, creating a moodboard and information architecture. I followed up by designing a high-fidelity mockup in Figma. For development, I used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with the Bootstrap framework. This project helped me apply both design and coding skills to create a website that's both functional and easy to use.
Digital archives, such as “Arquivo.pt” and “Internet Archive”, often present a wealth of information in formats that can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate. The task was to design a website that transforms this dense, unstructured content into an engaging, visually-oriented experience. The goal was to redefine how users interact with archived information, blending aesthetics and usability to enable unexpected connections and alternative reflections while maintaining intuitive navigation.
To address the challenge, I developed "Coca-Cola: The Evolution," a website showcasing the brand's journey through its iconic transformations. Using a visually engaging layout and intuitive navigation, the site combines historical content from digital archives with modern web design principles. The result is an interactive platform that not only highlights Coca-Cola's evolution but also enhances the user experience by offering a seamless and captivating way to explore the brand's legacy.
